Programming caught my attention when I took a class in high school called Programming in Basic Language. I had always done well in math, but the logic of programming really spoke to me. Plus, I excelled in the class, which made me feel really good. I loved learning about applying algorithms and figuring out the logic for how to do things. In college I studied Computer Science and fell in love with Artificial Intelligence. I programmed computers to figure out how to solve puzzles. I love making things WORK. If something looks nice, maybe people will appreciate it, but when something works well, EVERYONE can appreciate it.
I was offered the job at EnderTech as an internship I was in was ending. At my internship all I worked on was the company's website, but at EnderTech I was offered the opportunity to work on many different types of projects, which really appealed to me. I was happy to take the job.
The best project I've worked on at EnderTech has been www.fastnote.com. It gave me the opportunity to start a new project completely from scratch. I did everything from the wireframes to creating the database to helping the clients figure out how to achieve the functionality they wanted. Our client was very professional and knew what they wanted, which also made the project run smoothly.
Three things everyone should know about me:
1. I love salsa dancing.
2. I'm the only female Hispanic software engineer I know.
3. Jogging helps me work through problems I get stuck on.
