My first real coding experience happened in college with classes in C++ & Java. But on my own time I started learning HTML, CSS & PHP. I wanted to develop my own website after seeing a show about it on TechTV (a cable network available to me in my dorm room). I majored in Computer Engineering, which is more than just developing software, it's also working with hardware. I wanted to learn how the software interacted with the chips in the computer itself to make it function. Getting the chips in a computer to do what you want has a similar logic to programming, and I was hooked. As a kid, I was fascinated by computers and wanted to find out how they worked to make the programs and games do what they do.
After graduating from CalPoly Pomona, EnderTech was the first job posting I applied to and the first job I was offered. I liked the laid-back, friendly feeling in the office and thought it would be a good fit. It's been 4 years now and I think I made the right choice.
My favorite project has been UnitedStatesArtists.org. There were a lot of different, complicated systems that required more than just a simple single server. We had to work with multiple 3rd party APIs, a complicated accounting system, and implement lots of different components and features. It's never a dull moment with USA, especially since they want to keep adding additional features to the site.
Three things everyone should know about me:
1. I like the color green.
2. I prefer Halloween to Christmas because it's not as long and drawn out.
3. I LOVE BACON!!!!
